Chocoholics Anonymous: Step 1

 

 

Step 1: I admit I am powerless over chocolate.

Hi I’m Naomi and I’m a chocoholic. What is a chocoholic?

Me. I’m a chocoholic. This means chocolate can start an argument, chocolate can end an argument, I eat chocolate every. single. damn. day. and I don’t go to meetings.

Pretty much the best -holic you can be.

And there are lots of us.

So this one’s for all the chocoholics out there looking for a safe* vice.

You will find plenty of chocolate on this blog, in time, in all shapes and forms.

A trip to my blog may satiate your craving, or, OR it may make you run to your emergency chocolate stash. (Which is the store for me because I don’t have ANY reserves. EVER.) Either way, I am here to celebrate chocolate with you.

I’m here to review different chocolate types, brands, and answer any chocolate questions, as well as provide you with recipes, tutorials, and other chocolate dos and don’ts.

And I’d love to hear from you as well. Your kid getting into ALL of your chocolate, this awesome chocolate you got from Japan, whatever, I wanna hear it!

So buckle up and enjoy the ride….or else.

Let’s Break the Ice-ing

No need for formalities here.

I’ll make this Sweet and Simple (pun intended):

I’m Naomi, a cookie artist, a master of royal icing.

“WHAT? I thought this was a blog of all things chocolate!”

You are right, but I am a still a cookie artist, transitioning into the world of chocolate art. I am a cookier by day (yes, we have a name for ourselves), chocolatier by night.

I make customized cookies like these (shown above) for a million different occasions.[see more of my cookie work here.I work with a BUNCH of media (from royal icing to isomalt to fondant). BUT, there is nothing ‘royal’ about royal icing, isomalt is very tempermental, and people don’t like the taste of fondant. So I started looking for a new and improved medium and

**VIOLA! CHOCOLATE APPEARED**

and I ran with it.

 

So now, without further ado. I would like to introduce…..

Nothing is better than chocolate, in my opinion. But art is a close second.
